Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 2026
1. Our commitment
Alfa Marom Ltd., operating ICAO English (Alfa-Comm), is committed to making this app usable by people with disabilities, in line with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 5773-2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0, Level AA). We treat this as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time fix.
2. Accessibility measures already in place
- Descriptive alt text on informational images, including practice pictures and the site logo.
- Labelled controls (aria-label) on icon-only buttons — navigation, language switch, the tutor panel and audio controls — for screen-reader users.
- Live status regions (aria-live) that announce grading results and processing status as they update, without requiring the page to be reloaded.
- An interface built on accessible component primitives (Radix UI) that provide keyboard navigation, focus handling and screen-reader semantics out of the box for menus, dialogs, tabs and form controls.
- A fully bilingual Hebrew/English interface with correct right-to-left layout in Hebrew.
- Every spoken radiotelephony scenario is paired with a full text transcript, so audio content has a text equivalent.
3. Known limitations
This statement is a good-faith, self-assessed description of our accessibility efforts. It is not based on a certified accessibility audit by an accredited external assessor, and we have not formally tested the app against every WCAG 2.0 Level AA success criterion — for example, full colour-contrast verification and end-to-end keyboard-only testing across every screen have not been independently confirmed. Some areas of the app, including complex interactive practice flows, may not yet be fully accessible.
⚑ To confirm: whether a certified accessibility audit/survey is legally required for a business of this size under the Service Accessibility Adjustments Regulations, and if so, whether one has been or needs to be commissioned. This depends on factors (service reach, business structure) you're better placed to assess than I am from the app's code alone.
4. Accessibility coordinator
Given the size of the business, formal appointment of a dedicated accessibility coordinator is not mandatory under the current regulations, but we designate a contact person for accessibility matters. Uri Oram, the business owner, serves as that contact.
5. Reporting an accessibility problem
If you encounter an accessibility barrier while using this app, please tell us — by emailing uri.oram@gmail.com or via the contact page. Please describe the problem and the page where you found it, so we can look into it. If you believe your accessibility rights have not been respected, you may also contact the Commission for Equal Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
