Terms of Service

ICAO English is an online ICAO Aviation English practice tool operated by Alfa-Comm, consisting of three practice modules: RT Communications (radiotelephony scenario drills), Picture Description, and ATC Readback. Alfa-Comm also offers a paid one-on-one Practice Session with a certified rater, described in Section 6.

Full access is offered as a one-time payment of $59 USD, charged to your card in US Dollars, for a 90-day full-access pass. The pass unlocks all scenarios, ATC readback commands and picture descriptions for 90 days from the date of purchase, after which your account automatically reverts to free-item-only access. There is no subscription and no automatic renewal; to regain full access, purchase a new pass.

If you are a consumer purchasing this pass or a Practice Session as a distance sale under the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981 (Israel), you may cancel this purchase within 14 days of the date of purchase, without giving a reason, by the method described in Section 5 below — subject to Section 4, which explains when that right ends earlier for digital content you have already started using. Where a cancellation does not fall within the Section 4 exception, we may charge a cancellation fee of up to 5% of the price or the maximum amount permitted by law, whichever is lower. Any refund due will be paid within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice, to your original payment method.

The pass unlocks digital learning content — scenarios, picture-description items and ATC readback drills — delivered electronically rather than as a physical product. Israeli law allows a seller to end the cancellation right once a consumer begins using digital content of this kind, but only where the consumer was clearly told this in advance and separately confirmed it, distinct from simply accepting these Terms generally.

Accordingly: before your payment is completed, you are asked to separately confirm that you understand starting to use the unlocked content ends your right to cancel this purchase. If you gave that confirmation, your cancellation right under Section 3 ends once you first access any full-access content after payment. If that confirmation was not presented to you — for example, because you purchased before this step existed — the standard 14-day cancellation right in Section 3 applies in full, even if you have already started using the content.

To cancel a purchase, send written notice by email to contact@alfa-comm.com, stating your account email and the date of purchase. We will confirm receipt and process any refund due as described in Section 3.

The Practice Session is a one-time, one-hour, one-on-one session with Uri Oram, a Certified Flight Instructor and certified ICAO English proficiency rater. It includes two practice sessions in the style of the ICAO test and an assessment of your level against the ICAO Language Proficiency Rating Scale. The price is $75 USD, charged to your card in US Dollars.

Scheduling. After payment is confirmed we will contact you to agree a date and time. You may reschedule free of charge by giving at least 24 hours' notice before the agreed time.

Cancellation by you. The right of cancellation in Section 3 applies to the Practice Session, by the method in Section 5. Once the session has taken place, the service has been provided and the purchase can be cancelled only to the extent the law allows. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice, or do not attend, the session may be treated as provided, subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Law.

Cancellation by us. If we cannot hold the session at a time that suits you, we will offer another time or refund the full price to your original payment method within 14 days.

Scores and feedback in this app are AI-generated, and the assessment given in a Practice Session is given by a rater, in both cases for practice purposes only. They do not constitute an official ICAO Language Proficiency rating or certification, or a result issued by any aviation authority, and do not guarantee any result on an official ICAO English examination.

Practice content is developed by Uri Oram, a flight instructor and certified ICAO Aviation English exam rater. The app itself is not an official ICAO testing body, and no affiliation with ICAO is implied.

You agree to use the service only for its intended practice purpose. You must keep your account credentials confidential, not share your account with others, and not attempt to disrupt, overload or abuse the platform or its services.

The service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alfa-Comm shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, or damages arising from use of the service, and gives no warranty as to examination outcomes.

Who is responsible. The website and the services offered on it are operated by Uri Oram, trading as Alfa-Comm, as identified in Section 13 ("the Business"). The Business is the party to the transaction with you and is solely responsible to you for the content displayed on the website, its operation, the sale, the provision of the service, supply, customer service, cancellations and refunds, all as set out in these Terms and subject to them and to the law.

Website content. Practice content is prepared and maintained by the Business with reasonable care. The Business may update, change, add or remove content at any time. Scores and feedback generated by artificial intelligence may contain inaccuracies and are not a substitute for professional judgment or a rater's assessment, as set out in Section 7. The Business does not promise that the website will run uninterrupted or error-free, and may suspend it temporarily for maintenance or upgrades.

Sale and supply. Full access is activated digitally once payment is confirmed, normally immediately and in any case within a short time. If access was not activated, contact the Business at contact@alfa-comm.com and it will deal with it promptly. The Practice Session is provided at a time agreed under Section 6. There is no physical delivery and no shipping.

Payment. Payment is made on a secure payment page of an external payment processor (including credit card and Bit, where offered on the payment page). Payment details are entered on the processor's page and are not stored by the Business. The payment processor, the payment-method provider (including Bit) and the banks are not a party to the transaction between the Business and you, and are not responsible for the website content, the service, supply, cancellation or refunds; any claim on these matters is to be directed to the Business.

User actions. You are responsible for actions taken in your account, for the accuracy of the details you provide, and for content you record or upload to the website (including voice recordings). Do not upload content that is unlawful, offensive or infringes third-party rights. The Business is not responsible for the acts or omissions of users or third parties, or for faults originating in the internet, equipment or communication services outside its control.

Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel.
